My daughter, who is a mystery and romance
writer has just published her second book, which will be in a series of books
entitled Cop's Daughter. Laura has certainly proven to be an
accomplished writer and storyteller. The reviews of her first book coupled
with the reviews of Cop's Daughter: Victoria say it all.
The picture of the little girl on the front cover is from a family album.
 When I took that picture of Laura Marie wearing my
uniform jacket so many years ago, I had no idea how poignant it would become.
I was a Detective Sergeant at the time and had been assigned to a “Uniform
Detail” and had to wear my uniform.
My daughter Laura Marie was fascinated by the uniform had asked me if
she could be a “police officer” too when she grew up. So I did what
any good police father would do.
I dressed her up in my hat and uniform jacket and took a picture and gave it to
her.
Laura’s series of books entitled Cop’s Daughter
are stories that honor all daughters of cops. As she states, “A cop's
daughter is tough, independent and more than willing to take on the
challenge.” Needless to say, I was delighted and thrilled beyond words
when I saw that she used this picture of her in “uniform” for her new
book.
